The scheme is similar to the successful Pilot that ran in Oldham and Suffolk, but there are some significant differences as indicated below;Initially the programme will target learners in years 3 to 9 (KS2 & 3, aged between 7 and 14 inclusive)
Eligibility mirrors those of Free School Meals
The scheme is limited to one grant per household
Eligibility for Looked After Children spans years 1 to 13 inclusive
It is NOT available to families who have previously benefited from a Computers for Pupils laptop or a device through the Home Access Pilot.
Visit the Home Access website at
http://www.homeaccess.org.uk if you register as a partner you will be able to download additional information, posters and leaflets etc. to be used to inform your parents. The Home Access contact Centre telephone number is 0333 200 1004 which must be used by families to request an application form or enquire about the scheme and eligibility criteria.
No application forms are available to handout either through schools or by the Local Authority ‘One-Stop-Shop’ at the Civic Centre.
Please remember that there are only 270,000 grants available and they are on a first come first served basis, and are not ring fenced to local authorities.
